McKingley + Team Architects is based in South East Asia with offices in Jakarta and Singapore. MTA is a unique blend of foreign and local architects and designers. With this mix MTA understands the local conditions for projects within South East Asia while maintaining a competitive international standard of design.
MTA employs a team of urban planners, architects, interior designers, project managers and researchers which work in unison with other technical consultants and the client to cover every aspect of a project so that the project is completed with the highest quality, on time and to the budget.
MTA uses detailed market analysis as a guiding principle informing their designs – to create sustainable developments which are inline with the end user. Environmental sustainability is a key principle - designing projects which respond to a climate and adapt to the environmental conditions to help to reduce energy loads, creating sustainable and successful projects for clients and users.
MTA is a specialist in the region for retail developments and place making. In the past 6yrs MTA has worked on over fifty retail projects. The work has included the full range of architectural, interior and landscape design services as well as the creation and implementation of successful retail strategies. Retail strategies when implemented can be seen in the sustained success of Lombok Epicentrum Mall and Level 21 to name a few.
The founders of MTA have been working in the region since the ‘80s. In 1980 the founders, as Project Sunrise, conceptualized the original master plan for Darling Harbour, in Sydney which redeveloped the old docks into a new and vibrant waterfront development with exhibition centres, hotels, office park, parks, shopping centres,,restaurants, aquariums and entertainment which has been realized today and is an example of a fully integrated Place Making project. The founders were involved in the design and building of Jakarta’s first highrise, S. Widjoyo (now Sequis Tower), and since then has been involved in all scales of architectural projects throughout Indonesia including Lombok, Kalimantan Borneo, Medan, Malang, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta, Manado and Jakarta. They have consulted for the Singaporean government for the original Sentosa island development.. They also worked on the Coney Island revitalization project, which was later built as 'New York, New York' in Las Vegas.

MTA memiliki tim dari urban planner, arsitek, interior design dan projek manager yang bekerja sama dengan konsultan teknis lainnya dan klien untuk mencakup seluruh aspek dari projek supaya projek tersebut selesai dengan kualitas tertinggi, tepat waktu dan sesuai budget.
MTA mengunakan market analisis detail sebagai pedoman untuk menginformasikan design. Environmental sustainability merupakan prinsip utama - mendesain projek yang merespon pada iklim dan beradaptasi dengan kondisi lingkungan untuk membantu mengurangi biaya energi. Menciptakan kelanjutan dan projek yang sukses untuk pengguna.
Pendiri dari MTA sudah bekerja di daerah ini dari tahun 80an. Di tahun 1980 para pendiri, pada Projek Sunrise, mengkonsepsualisasikan masterplan untuk Darling Harbour di Sydney yang mengembangkan dermaga tua menjadi pinggir pantai yang baru dan hidup dengan pameran dan hotel serta perkantoran, taman, landscape, pusat belanja, restaurant, akuarium dan hiburan yang dikenal sekarang. Pendiri MTA pernah terlibat dalam design dan pembangunan bangunan tinggi pertama di Jakarta yakni S.Widjoyo, dan sejak itu telah teribat dalam projek dalam semua skala diseputar Indonesia dari Kalimantan, Balikpapan dan Cipanas. Pendiri pernah berkonsultasi untuk pemerintah Singapur pada projek pulau Sentosa, yang sekarang ini digunakan untuk Marina Bay. Pendiri juga terlibat dalam projek revitalisasi Coney Island, yang kemudian dibangun sebagai 'New York, New York' di Las Vegas. Pendiri juga telah mendesign projek Lido Lake Resort di Bogor dan Pier Cairns di Australia hotel multifungsi, pusat belanja dan kompleks apartement di tepi pantai
Beberapa waktu ini pendiri MTA memfokuskan ke China dengan berbagai cakupan projek. Saat ini MTA memfokuskan pada Asia Tenggara dan perkembanganannya yang pesat.
